Laura Owens

Los Angeles-based artist Laura Owens, 49, is hailed as one of the most important women painters of her generation. Schooled at Rhode Island School of Design and later at Cal Arts where she masterfully honed her technique and skills, Laura’s work reflects her own timeline as she moves through media and artistic styles: from the abstract, to tranquil animal screens, to children’s book illustrations, to technology.

Don’t miss her show at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA, open from November 11, 2018 - March 25, 2019. This show represents a mid-career survey with over 60 paintings from the mid-1990s until today.

The Laura Owens exhibition is organized by the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York and this is the final exhibition.
