January Closet Clean Up Or Out
Everyone aspires to be Marie Kondo, but for most of us (including myself) that reality probably isn’t going to happen.
I recently came across a fantastic article in the February issues of Harper’s Bazaar magazine about editing your wardrobe. The piece focuses on the positive impacts of fashion sustainability. My takeaway was to edit your wardrobe down so you’re only left with items that fit and flatter your body (in the process, you may also discover a few items that need alterations or repairs).
Since the month of January marks the start of a new year, there is no better time to begin cleaning your closet - even if you’re starting small! In fact, I suggest starting with easy, attainable goals: one type of clothing, shoes or sweaters. A friend once gave me the advice to only tackle something that you know you can finish.
Before you begin your closet clean up, you’ll want to have some supplies on hand:
When sorting through sweaters, this Conair Fabric Shaver is a lifesaver! It will make all your favorite sweaters look brand new again.
If you want to refresh them even more, I suggest using The Laundress Wool & Cashmere Soap and hand wash them on your washer’s gentlest cycle, laying flat to dry after.
