Books We're Reading

Since there’s nothing better than curling up with a good book in the winter, we thought we’d share some of the stories we’ve been reading lately.

Here are four books we can’t put down:

The Cartiers By Francesca Cartier Brickell

This page-turning book is written by the great granddaughter of one of the Cartier brothers, who turned their grandfather’s small jewelry store into a global empire. We enjoyed learning the rich history behind the brand, which Francesca wove together by interviewing family members after she found boxes of correspondence, store ledgers, travel documents and diaries in the family’s country estate.

Talking to Strangers By Malcolm Gladwell

For anyone that likes to learn more about the society and culture we live in, this is the book for you. Gladwell takes you case-by-case, explaining the cold, hard facts about human behavior and examining how we can really misunderstand the strangers around us. This is a book I couldn't put it down!

The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern

This is a timeless love story anyone can enjoy. Morgenstern’s second book follows a boy named Zachary whose tale begins when he finds a book in the library with no author. Eventually, he comes across a chapter about himself and the rest of the novel follows a series of clues, adventures and discoveries.

Normal People by Sally Rooney

This soon-to-be TV series tells the love story of two high schoolers who come from very different backgrounds. This is a quick, easy read (I finished it in a day) and follows the ups and downs of their relationship.
