Alexandra Llewellyn

Whether you’re in need of an extra special gift or you simply want to treat yourself to a functional piece of art, you may want to consider a game table board by Alexandra Llewellyn. Inspired by her childhood spent playing the world’s oldest game in Cairo, Alexandra Llewellyn is known for creating unique and beautifully handcrafted backgammon sets, luxury games, and bespoke furniture. Her designs function as both games and objects d'art.

The London-based designer’s creations have been commissioned by collectors, design virtues and institutions around the world including British royalty, Sir Richard Branson, The Four Seasons group, Vogue Magazine and Elle Macpherson.

Alexandra’s signature handmade games, including some of her collaborations with icons such as Terry O’Neil, Alice Temperley and the estate of Milton H. Green, are available online. For the ultimate bespoke gift, Alexandra will work with you, guiding you through ideas and memories to create a one-of-a-kind, specially commissioned game table, complete with engravings, personalized messages, initials, dates and semi-precious stones that can be enjoyed for generations to come.

To support wildlife-conservation charity WildAid, the artist recently collaborated with photographer Kristian Schmidt to create a game table where twenty percent of each sale is donated to the charity. The design, featuring Kristian’s photo series of whale shark series, represents the vulnerability and fragility of the ocean creatures. The limited edition set also includes exquisite playing pieces made of lapis and turquoise stones set in brass.
