Dear Basketball
We all know Kobe Bryant, aka The Black Mamba, as the superstar #24 and #8 of the Los Angeles Lakers. In his twenty year career, he has achieved 5 NBA Championships, 2x Final MVP, played in 18 All Star Games, 4x All Star MVP, 15x All NBA and scored 81 points in a single game against the Toronto Raptors in 2006.
After his retirement in 2015, Kobe wrote a poem in 30 minutes as a tribute to his love for basketball and how the sport had been his heart and soul since the age of two. That poem became Dear Basketball, an animated short film that won a 2018 Academy Award and the 2018 Annie Award for Best Animated Short.
The film was produced by the multi-media content creation company that Kobe started, Granity Studios. This was the company's first project.
